The National Asphalt Pavement Association has awarded four Orlando Paving Company projects with the 2008 Quality in Construction Awards.  The projects receiving recognition are:

SR 436 from Curry Ford Road to the Seminole County Line for the Florida Department of Transportation.

Widening of South Access Road, Orlando International Airport for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority & OCD

528 Mill & Resurface from Boggy Creek Road east to SR 520 for the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority

Airport Boulevard for Seminole County, Florida & OCD

West Palm Beach Construction recently received the Best in Construction Award for maintenance of traffic on the Boynton Beach Boulevard project by the Florida Transportation Builders Association. This was a $6 million project with a 362 day duration. The job was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.

Owner: Jacksonville Transportation Authority

Bid Amount: $22 million

Project Description: 1.6 mile- long roadway realignment and tight urban diamond interchange project that will create a grade-separated intersection. The project will require the construction of two bridges to span Kernan Blvd. and MSE walls to contain the approaches. Signalization, roadway, maintenance of traffic, lighting, roadway drainage, signing and marking, utility relocations, supporting electrical supply, overhead sign structures, sidewalks, barrier wall, clearing, grubbing, and mass grading is also included.

Bid Amount: 18.3 million

Project Description: Project consists of new interchange off of 417 onto Moss Park Road, new entrance and exit ramps including two toll plazas, a new bridge for the exit ramps and widening of existing 417 overpass over Moss Park, storm drainage and asphalt work

Duration of job: 18 months

The project finished 1,745 days from when it all started, within approved time, due to talented, hard-working crews. To the men and women who participated, thank you!

In June, Hubbard Construction began the $89 million Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority 414 project. The project consists of bridge work as well as new road construction.

The US-192 project is located in St. Cloud Florida and consists of approximately 5.62 miles of reconstruction, eight ponds, two roadway bridges, one pedestrian bridge, three box culverts, widening a canal, storm drainage, jack & bore, signalization, signage, pavement markings, grassing.

Hubbard Construction in Orlando recently opened the 4.5 mile, $73.3 million SR-408 project to the public.
